Why is my new e-scooter not reaching its maximum range?
Have you just received your new Pure Electric e-scooter, but noticed that the battery life or range (total mileage) is lower than expected during your first few rides?
Don't worry—this is completely normal for a brand-new battery.
The cause: Balanced cells
Before arriving at your doorstep, scooters are stored in our warehouse. During this storage period, the lithium-ion battery enters a protective "sleep mode." Because of this, the individual battery cells might be slightly unbalanced during your first few trips, meaning the battery cannot yet utilize its full 100% potential.
The solution: Balancing your battery
To activate the maximum capacity of your battery, you need to complete a few initialization cycles. Please follow these simple steps:
Charge to 100%: Plug in your scooter and leave it on the charger until the indicator light on the charger turns green (confirming a full 100% charge).
Repeat for 3 to 5 cycles: During your first week of use, make sure to charge the battery completely to 100% after your rides.
Enjoy full capacity: Repeating this process 3 to 5 times allows the internal battery cells to balance out and level their voltages. You will notice your range steadily improving and stabilizing.
💡 Tip: Avoid riding your battery down to 0% during this initial phase. Try to plug it in as soon as the battery indicator drops below 20%.
If your range does not improve after completing 5 full charging cycles, please contact our support team for assistance.
