Looking after your Pure scooterUpdated 2 months ago

Regular maintenance significantly extends the life of your e-scooter and ensures optimal performance and safety.

1. Cleaning

  • Clean the scooter regularly with a dry or lightly damp cloth.
  • Do not use pressure washers, hoses, or submerge in water.
  • After riding in rain, wipe away moisture from the deck, stem, and charging port before storage or charging.

2. Tyres

  • Check tyre pressure regularly and inflate to the recommended pressure (see the tyre sidewall, typically 2.5 bar / 36 PSI).
  • Check tread depth for wear and replace tyres when excessively worn.

3. Check moving parts

  • Brakes: test before each ride and tighten cables if they feel loose.
  • Bolts and screws: inspect regularly, especially around the handlebar, stem, and folding mechanism. Tighten as needed, but do not overtighten.
  • Suspension (if fitted): ensure it moves smoothly with no unusual sounds or stiffness.

4. Regular maintenance

  • Weekly check: give your scooter a quick once-over for loose parts, damage, or unusual noises.
  • Folding mechanism: keep it clean and free of grit. Apply a small amount of silicone spray if needed for smooth operation.
  • Brake pads: if your scooter has disc brakes, check the pads for wear and replace when thin.

5. Storage and transport

  • Store indoors in a dry, room-temperature environment, away from moisture, direct sunlight, or freezing conditions.
  • Avoid impacts: ride carefully over bumps, kerbs, and rough terrain to protect components and frame integrity.
  • Transport safely: when folded, secure the scooter properly to avoid cable or clip damage.
